COVID-19
The Mongan Community's Response to COVID-19
As the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the nation, the Mongan Institute community mobilized rapidly, leveraging our unique capacity to span data science to delivery science and our particular focus on advancing health equity and improving outcomes for people with complex health-related needs.
Research
Groundbreaking projects at the Mongan Institute range from epidemiological and clinical cohort studies to projects addressing health disparities and novel approaches to health care delivery of prevention and treatments.
The Clinical and Epidemiology Unit developed a COVID Symptom Tracker App and established a global Coronavirus Pandemic Epidemiology Consortium to build a network of investigators of cohort and clinical studies and to encourage rapid data-sharing.
Research Training
The MGH COVID Corps Program offers students who are local Boston residents or from a background historically underrepresented in the biomedical research sciences a paid, remote, COVID-related research opportunity.
The majority of our 2022 cohort are from groups historically underrepresented in biomedical science, with an average graduate and undergraduate GPA of 3.63.
